Belgian Students Completing their Internships at BC
For the last few months, Belgium Campus has had the pleasure of hosting three Belgian students who are completing part of their internship here in South Africa. One of the students is Perrine Delers from the Catholic University College of Leuven or KHL, where she is studying Office Management with Project and Event Management.
Perrine is completing her internship under what is called the “North-South Internship” which allows candidates to do their internship outside of Europe in a country with an emerging economy. Undertaking an internship in another country is both a learning curve and very exciting. When asked why she chose South Africa, Perrine explains: “When I heard I could go to South Africa, I was already happy to be able to go anywhere in the first place! But South Africa has always been a country I definitely wanted to visit some day and now I have the chance to do so!”. Given her field of study, Perrine was tasked with setting up the new Belgium Campus Alumni Association and organising a networking event for the alumni.
Besides all this hard work, Perrine enjoys her time in South Africa visiting places like the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve in Komdraai, the FNB Soccer City Stadium for the Soweto Derby, going on safari and visiting Hatfield, Pretoria’s student hot spot.
