You can apply for a student loan at most banks in South Africa, including FNB, ABSA, Nedbank and Standard Bank. Each bank will offer you a different interest rate, so make sure you do your research. You will need a family member and/or legal guardian who is earning a minimum monthly income of R3 000 – R6 000 to stand surety for you (take responsibility to make sure that your loan is repaid even if you cannot pay it). You will be required to pay back the interest (currently less than R10 000 per year) during your studies and will only need to start repaying the loan amount once you graduate. Should you require an invoice/account statement from us to apply for a Student Loan, you can email our accounts department at firstname.lastname@example.org and one of our administrators will assist you from there.
